Celebrating our national tipple




Inverwe has linked up with The Scotch Malt Whisky Society to celebrate Whisky Month in May this year.    There are numerous events planned during May and we will be at a number of them including.


26th April 12-5pm  – Edinburgh Whisky Festival, The Hub, Catstlehill, Royal Mile, Edinburgh EH1 2NE

celebrating the start of Whisky Month and Homecoming 2014 with our second Edinburgh WhiskyFest. Sample a selection of drams from a wide range of different distilleries along with the Society’s own range of single casks and some guest Scottish producers to compliment, including Inveralmond beer, Crombies whisky and beer sausages, Finlay’s Haggis, I J Mellis cheese, The Buffalo Farm, Inverawe and more.

 17th May 12pm to 6pm – 28 Queen Street and also the Vaults, Leith

Every day is whisky day  at the Society but we’re upping the ante for the official World Whisky Day, showcasing the very finest in Scottish food, beer, cocktails and whisky by some of the country’s best producers.  Various stalls will boast pairings of rare Society whisky matched with Scottish produce  A unique flavour experience, tokens can be bought at the venue and exchanged at the festival stalls on the day.

21st May 7 – 10pm Members of the Society can enjoy a wonderful evening at the Queen Street Dining Room Restaurant

Renowned for its unique pairing delights, The Dining Room at 28 Queen Street has long been showcasing the very best in modern Scottish cuisine. Tonight The Dining Room team joins forces with an ensemble of Scottish producers (including Findlay’s Haggis, The Buffalo Farm, Inverawe Smokehouse and I J Mellis cheeses) to craft an exploration of five exceptional whisky and food courses. Guest producers will bring their Scottish produce to life as each course is introduced by Head Chef, James Freeman and Society Whisky Ambassador.  (Tickets are limited)

29th May 2014 7-10pm Seafood & Whisky Dinner, The Vaults, Leith.

A celebration of the very best Scottish Seafood, paired with SMWS whiskies and served with some entertaining tales from Jimmy Buchan of BBC series, Trawlerman.  Expect a 3-course seafood feast along with a flavoursome selection on 5 Society drams.  Patrick will be in attendance too to answer any questions about our smoking methods.  Tickets are limited again so do book early.
