International Inverawe!

We had an amazing visitor on Wednesday, a camping bus from the Netherlands.  Paul te Molder runs Outdoor-camper – a renovated school bus towing a trailer.

He is taking a party of 12 around the West Highlands and islands, the tents are on the roof and the luggage is in the trailer! Every night they pitch tents at a new campsite.

The 12 guests enjoyed a guided tour of our smokehouse and then sampled what they saw at the café.

Give them a wave if you see them out and about on the roads as they travel up to Skye and back down to Edinburgh over the next week.

Or visit their website www.outdoor-camper.nl

We’re having international summer at Inverawe; at the start of the season we served lunch to nearly 30 young French chefs who were touring Scotland discovering the nation’s top food products; there’s been a party from Belgium and another from Germany who have all ‘toured and tasted’.

That’s not to mention all the ‘staycationers’ from the UK and our loyal band of local customers!  Late one afternoon a minibus arrived and a party of Chinese ladies and gentlemen disembarked. But they hadn’t travelled half-way round the world, they were members of the Glasgow Chinese Community Association’s pensioners group, stopping off for tea and cakes on their way home after a day-trip to Oban!

We’ve had lots of French, German, Italian, Scandinavian and Spanish visitors, including some from the Basque county. Australians, New Zealanders and Canadians have been out in force and also this week we had Americans visit on their way to Mull and Iona.
